On the advent of the new year we would like to reiterate our commitment to forge ahead the fruitful cooperation between Ethiopia and the friendly countries we are accredited to i.e People's Republic of China, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Ethiopia has embarked on market economy with full determination and commitment. It has been implementing all embracing economic and political reform programs in order to ensure a win-win environment for the country as well as the investors. These initiatives are bearing fruits in terms of macro-economic stability, sustained economic growth, fiscal discipline, political stability and good governance.

In cognizance of the vital role investment plays in the economy of the country, the Government has taken various new measures aimed at creating conductive environment for the growth and development of the private sector. At the same time, the Government is striving to develop human resources for the expansion of private investment.

Taking into account the attractive incentives to be offered, the vast dynamic and lucrative foreign markets geographically close by and the opportunities available in the area of agriculture, agro-industry, tourism, mining, energy and manufacturing investment in Ethiopia is not only safe and secure but also quite rewarding.

We express our continued determination to facilitate and provide necessary support for private initiatives from friendly countries to Ethiopia.
