Message from the Ambassador Human Resource development is one of the most important aspects of Ethiopia's capacity building strategy. Currently at home, there is a strong conviction and readiness to pool the necessary resources and knowledge under the newly formed Ministry of Capacity Building to achieve this goal. We have also been able to forge excellent cooperation with friendly countries to develop experience sharing mechanisms. Accordingly, familiarization programs, short term and customized training programs are being secured from pertinent institutions of P.R. China, Singapore and Malaysia. We also hope that similar fruitful cooperation will soon be ventured with Australian institutions. Many Ethiopian experts engaged in the fields of education, health, communications and infrastructure are benefiting a lot from the cooperation. As human resource development is decisive in realizing poverty reduction through rapid economic development, we expect the cooperation to expand in scope and frequency. Such exchange programs enhance sharing of knowledge and information. They also create good opportunities in advancing people to people contact and expanding opportunities for further cooperation such as in the fields of trade, investment and cultural exchanges. We express our conviction in nurturing and consolidating this and other aspect of common interests.
