A delegation led by Mayor of Addis Abba City Arkebe Equbay paid a working visit to Beijing from June 21 until 28, 2004. The aim of the visit was to strengthen the relationships between the two cities.
The visit organized by the Beijing Municipality would also enable the delegation to share experiences in urban land administration, infrastructure development, road construction, trade and industry, petty business development as well as the expansion of investment.
Arkebe on the occasion exchanged views with his counterpart Wang Qushan on ways of strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
Arkebe said the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two cities helps to consolidate the relationship between them.
Wang Qishan said on the occasion that since Addis Ababa is serving as a political centre for all African countries and not only for Ethiopia, it deserves to be given special attention.
He said the Beijing Municipality desires to sign cooperation agreement between the two cities The working visit help enhance the investment, experience sharing and people-to-people relationship between the two cities.
